Mellow Pets takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

Identity and contact details: first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number.
Order data: items ordered, amount, purchase history, delivery and billing address.
Payment data: handled directly by our secure payment providers. We never see your full card number and we do not store it.
Browsing data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, time on site, traffic source, cookie identifiers.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Processing and delivering your orders — performance of the contract.
Customer service and handling returns — performance of the contract.
Meeting our accounting and tax obligations — legal obligation.
Sending you offers and news — your consent, withdrawable at any time.
Measuring audience and improving the site — legitimate interest or consent depending on the cookies used.
Preventing fraud — legitimate interest.

4. Recipients

Your data is shared only with the providers needed to deliver the service: Shopify (store hosting), payment providers, carriers and logistics services, email and analytics tools. We never sell your data to third parties.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

The data controller is established in the United Kingdom, a country recognised as providing an adequate level of protection by the European Commission adequacy decision of 28 June 2021. For other providers outside the EU, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses.

6. Retention periods

Order data and invoices: 10 years (accounting obligation).
Marketing data: 3 years from last contact.
Cookies: 13 months maximum.
Customer account: until you ask us to delete it.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, as well as the right to give instructions about what happens to it after your death.

To exercise these rights: contact@mellowpets.fr. We respond within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or your national supervisory authority.

8. Cookies

Our site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work (cart, session, security) and, subject to your consent, audience measurement and advertising cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through the consent banner or your browser settings.

9. Security

The site is protected by an SSL certificate and payments are encrypted. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access.

10. Minors

This site is not intended for people under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date of the last change appears at the top of the page.
